It has a number of woodworking uses such as hollowing out timber, making troughs, \u0026amp; special notchwork. The Small Gutter Adze is usually kept for when the user is working close to the material, making a shorter handle preferable. The bottom grip of the hickory handle is roughened which gives a steady grip even when one's hands are wet or sticky.
